We've said it once and we'll say it again: Gloss is back . And this time, it's not relegated to your lips. The most recent runways have shown innovative, cool, and downright sexy ways to add a little light to your life: eye shine. But this is eons away from smearing Vaseline on your lids. We're talking smoky, artsy, cool-girl gloss looks.
Major makeup artists, like Tom Pecheux and Diane Kendal, sent models down the catwalk sporting smudgy, iridescent, greasy eyes that toe the line between effortlessly polished and seductive AF. Plus, if artists like Pecheux and Kendal are giving the product their stamps of approval, you can bet it will be showing up in just about every makeup collection next year.
Ahead, we've rounded up the best glossy moments from New York Fashion Week. It's time to get your shine on.
Creatures Of The Wind
At Creatures Of The Wind's spring 2017 show, models wore lip gloss on their lids and super-matte red lipstick inspired by PJ Harvey, the ultimate '90s indie girl.

NARS Triple X Lip Gloss, $26, available at NARS .
Not feeling the whole lip-products-on-the-eyes situation? Try Kevyn Aucoin's Diamond Eye Gloss. The iridescent formula feels balmy, not sticky, on your lids.
Kevyn Aucoin Diamond Eye Gloss, $38, available at Barneys New York .
Altuzarra
The makeup look at Altuzarra was one that professional makeup artist Tom Pecheux called "the sweaty bitch." That is, smoky and smudged, yet cool, effortless, and chic all at the same time. The star players of the look were undoubtedly the eyes, which Pecheux created by wrapping a layer of MAC's Fluidline Blacktrack gel eyeliner around the rims and smudging it out with a warm orange gloss.
Photo Courtesy Of Kerastase. Pecheux used MAC's Eye Gloss in Next Up Neon — a vibrant orange hue. When the warm gloss mixes in with the black liner, "It softens [the eye look] and makes it less black," says Pecheux.
MAC Studio Eye Gloss in Next Up Neon, $22, available at MAC .
If bright orange isn't your cup of tea, this peachy eye gloss by Milk will have a similar effect. Plus, it comes in a handy click-up pen, making it super-easy to slick onto your lids in a hurry.
Milk Makeup Eye Vinyl in Bridge, $20, available at Milk Makeup .
Baja East
At Baja East, makeup artist Diane Kendal went in heavy with the gloss, yet kept her models' eyeliner sharp and defined.
Photo: Via @Maccosmetics. Diane Kendal used a host of MAC products (Mineralize Timecheck Lotion , Mixing Medium in Shine , and Chromographic Pencil ) to create this greasy look. But for a less time-consuming process, we suggest simply lining the eyes with black eyeliner and smudging it out with a clear gloss like Nyx's clear Lid Lacquer. Too lazy for that? Nyx also makes a black gloss, which can be slicked all over the lids in a hurry.
Nyx Lid Lacquer, $6.99, available at Ulta Beauty .
AreaNYC
But eye gloss isn't just for those who want ultra-sultry smoky eyes; it can be used to create ethereal, high-shine looks, as well. At AreaNYC, makeup artist Gisel Calvillo did just that by combining MAC's Studio Eye Gloss with the brand's Glitter in Reflects Transparent Teal .
Photo: Via @Maccosmetics. Suratt's eyeshadow duo comes with a shimmery, duo-chrome eyeshadow and a clear gloss in one handy, very chic package. Although the gloss isn't quite as shiny as some of the others we've tried, when used in conjunction with the eyeshadow, the two have a 3-D effect on the lids.
Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes in Crystal Eyes, $38, available at Sephora .
