10 Crazy Rooms Of The Rich & Famous

If a home is just a reflection of one’s personal style, then it’s safe to say our favorite celebs have some pretty wild tastes. And while a rare few may choose to live modestly, many stars see a house as a prime opportunity to flaunt their excesses. It seems the bigger the name, the more decadent the dwelling.

We’re not talking about run-of-the-mill hot tubs or chandeliers here, either. We're talking about entire rooms dedicated to extravagant pursuits, from wine mines to casinos to bowling alleys. The kind of high-end home additions only a true superstar lifestyle could afford.

Scroll ahead for 10 of the most insane rooms ever designed for the dwellings of mega-stars like Jay and Bey, Jennifer Lopez, and Gigi Hadid. You might call it luxury interior design at its finest. Or total domestic debauchery.

Jay Z & Beyonc é 's NOLA Foyer

Formerly a Presbyterian church, the historic New Orleans home of Jay Z and Beyoncé is filled with decadent details like arched coffered ceilings, marble floors, and stone columns. But the real centerpiece of the Spanish Baroque-style estate is its entry foyer, clad with wrought-iron chandeliers, elaborate crown moldings, and antique chapel pews in place of standard seating. Proof that there may be church in the wild, after all.

Hayden Panettiere & Wladimir Klitschko ’s Man Cave

Nashville star Hayden Panettiere had a custom man-cave-meets-music room designed for her boxer beau, Wladimir Klitschko, above the garage of their Tennessee home. It comes outfitted in electric guitars and personal notes from musicians such as Fergie and Justin Timberlake, and it boasts a couch with built-in beer coolers. Now Klitschko can beat his drums (and chest) to his heart's content without ever upsetting new mom Panettiere.

50 Cent’s Casino

Not only is 50 Cent’s Connecticut mansion home to 35 bathrooms, a nightclub (with dancer poles), and an appropriately themed G-Unit brand gym, he also has a full-blown casino on the premises. On top of custom-built poker tables and blackjack boards, the private clubhouse boasts a state-of-the-art surround-sound system and a baller wet bar — ensuring 50 can continue to stunt without ever having to leave the house.

Alicia Keys' Indoor Pool Pavilion

When Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz bought their first East Coast home together, they clearly wanted to make a splashy statement. In addition to 32 rooms, a movie theater, and a professional-grade recording studio, the couple’s lavish New Jersey spread features a tricked-out indoor swimming-pool pavilion. The glass-roofed structure comes outfitted in arched windows, contemporary sculptures, and an entertaining-lounge area that’s perfectly suited for the Superwoman.

Jay Z & Beyoncé's Bowling Alley

Leave it to billionaire couple Jay Z and Beyoncé to make our list twice — with two separate houses. In this case, it's their lavish former Hamptons home, and more specifically, its indoor bowling alley. Along with a half-pipe, rock-climbing wall, and 60-foot heated swimming pool, the pair’s old vacation pad has a proper two-lane bowling alley, complete with banquette-style seating and a full bar. Fitting, since we know that bowling is how HOV & Co. get loose.

P. Diddy’s Movie Theater

When you make your living as a media mogul like Sean “P. Diddy” Combs does, you’re obviously going to need a mega-mansion to match. The rapper’s multi-million-dollar New Jersey home includes a recreation room (with a putting green), an indoor basketball court, and a ridiculously regal home movie theater that seats up to a dozen guests. Sounds to us like mo’ money really means mo’ popcorn.

Oprah’s Colorado Wine Cave

Why have a measly cellar when you can have a whole damn wine cave? Oprah’s $14M ski chalet in Telluride, CO, comes with the kind of luxuries that make us want to rethink our own life choices (a Finnish-style spa, wood-burning fireplaces, and, of course, an underground wine cave with a mobile mine cart). Who needs a free car when you can have your own private tram take you to the slopes?

J. Lo’s Backyard Amphitheater

While it’s not surprising that a superstar entertainer like Jennifer Lopez would want a stage inside her SoCal compound, an entire outdoor amphitheater seems a bit more aggressive. Along with luxuries such as a mini-golf course and a custom swimming pond, the singer counts a full-fledged performance pavilion — with surround-sound and cushioned seating for 30 — as part of her new $40M Bel Air property. Now the only thing that’s missing is Ja Rule.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West's Loggia Lounge

Modeled to look like a miniature Versailles, Kim and Kanye’s $20M Hidden Hills estate is totally oozing with their signature extravagance. A true French-style chateau, there are two pools (with fountains), a vineyard, and a formal stone loggia — with exposed ceiling beams, lounge seating, and a chandelier — on the grounds. The gorgeous views and awesome amenities make the posh portico perfect for impromptu Kardashian-Jenner parties. And of course, lots of selfies.

Gigi Hadid’s Rooftop Balcony

Living a supermodel lifestyle requires a super swanky pad, something Gigi Hadid understands. Not only was her first Manhattan apartment — penthouse, rather — nestled in a hip downtown neighborhood, it came complete with a Carrera marble kitchen, spa-inspired master bathroom, and enormous rooftop balcony offering panoramic views of the city. Ideal for entertaining boy-banders and pop star besties alike.
