If you're currently in a public place, we dare you to take a look at the hairstyles around you. Do you see a textured bob? Yeah, we thought so. Not in public? Just open Instagram and take a peek. The style is littering your feed, right? That's because they're everywhere.

Now, this is not to say that there is anything wrong with textured bobs and lobs. Heck, half our beauty team sported the look in 2015. But as we coast into the new year, we're on the hunt for the next big trends — and what we're finding couldn't be more different.

Ahead, you'll find 13 Instagram-favorite styles that we love, and will inspire you to think outside the box in 2016. Whether that means trying a geometric cut à la Acne's pre-fall show, adding thick bangs to your chop, or just updating your tried-and-true topknot. Here's to an adventurous 2016.

Sure, bobs look great doused in salt spray, but we think going for a stick-straight geometric style like this has even more punch right now.

Nikisha Brunson sports an effortless pineapple— a style that not only reduces frizz and protects hair, but looks chic in the process.

Beauty tip: Trade in your go-to topknot for something a little more polished, like the style models wore in Tanya Taylor's spring 2016 runway show. It may look difficult, but we assure you it isn't.

If you simply can't put down the texturizing spray, consider a windswept fauxhawk like this one created by hairstylist Riawna Capri.

Blogger Michelle Madsen takes the ombré style to new territories by pairing it with an asymmetrical lob.

Fernanda Ly, a model, who has mastered the art of pink hair, continues to rock the look with razor-sharp blunt bangs and long pastel locks.

We're getting major Stevie Nicks vibes from this breezy, fringe-heavy look created by superstar hairstylist, Jen Atkin.

At Pat McGrath's highly anticipated Phantom 002 launch, writer, editor, actress, and singer, Tavi Gevinson, rocked blue eyeshadow, Twiggy lashes, and a gorgeous pixie.

Identical twins Cipriana Quann and TK Wonder are famous in both the fashion and beauty worlds for their signature look, seen here. We could spend hours staring at their larger-than-life locks, which they twist and style in a myriad of different ways.

Have bangs? Follow blogger Olivia Lopez's lead and try a sleek, low bun. It's incredibly simple for rushed mornings, and will let your bangs take center stage.

Yet another example of a killer pixie cut to emulate in 2016. The best part? A style like this really lets your makeup and outfit shine.

Want to start 2016 with a bang? Blogger Dara Muscat makes a case for a thick, full fringe, which adds a fresh feeling to piece-y waves.

We'll be the first to admit that the cuts at Acne's pre-fall show aren't for the faint of heart, but they do make a solid argument for trying your own version of a geometric chop in 2016. We dare you...
