7 Fresh Ways To Wear A Scarf

A scarf isn't likely on your must-have list of summer wardrobe staples — not when you're too focused on refreshing your swimsuit collection and searching for dresses you can wear without dripping sweat.

But on a recent scan through Zara's new arrivals section, we noticed the company making a convincing case for the warm-weather scarf — and getting real creative with how it's worn. Yes, simply wrapping it around your neck is still a thing, but have you considered going as far as wearing one as a top, or tying it into a bag? (Yes, a scarf can actually replace your go-to tote.)

Less (clothing) is more come summertime, right? So, ditch your top for a scarf that's wrapped around your chest like a bandeau and tied right in the front.

Tie the scarf together at the ends to create a sack that's way cooler than any canvas tote you usually carry.

Let the one-shoulder trend live on by draping your scarf over one shoulder and wrapping it around your opposite arm.

Spruce up a messy pony with a small scarf looped around your hair-tie.

If you still prefer to wear your scarf around your neck, cut the bulk by twisting each end together and knotting it at the bottom.

Wear it as a loose headband by tying it over your head and knotting it at the nape of your neck.
