Anna Gray is a writer and model living in NYC. Wanting to make something productive of her procrastination habits, Anna started the newsletter Things I Would Buy if I Didn't Have to Pay Rent (a mouthful, yes, but a title and an elevator pitch in one). An aggregation of everything from clothes to cars, the newsletter is a small corner of the web where you can satiate your own shopping aspirations.

For Refinery29, Anna's bi-weekly column of the same name will feature selections from her newsletter alongside some exclusives for our readers. Browse her favorites and don't forget to sign up for #TIWB to see the full gamut of Anna's deepest internet wants.

Not to jinx it, but it seems like the sun is finally here to stay. To most, this means getting outside, eating ice cream, absorbing vitamin D, etc. To me (and you because you're reading this shopping article) it means I start thinking about how to transition from 68 degrees to 95. It's only going to get hotter from here on out, guys! My slideshow this week has everything we both need to stay cool on the subway when the AC is down (plus a couple of things for the three spring days we'll have, too).

Not that I needed proof, but this T Magazine video validates my pajama fascination and slip-dress enthusiasm. Slips are barely there, beautiful, and pretty timeless. Plus you can wear them over a T-shirt. (Email me if you want the cheaper Etsy options I've been virtually hoarding).

Rag & Bone Nina Open Back Silk Dress, $450, available at Intermix.

Red ankle-wrap heels to wear with your summer dresses when your parents come into town (because you can take cabs).

Jil Sander Sandals, $78, available at Etsy.

I have a deep affinity for tiny covered buttons but that google search usually leads me to a bunch of weird, slightly stained Victorian stuff. This breezy tank is much easier to wear.

Wilfred Silk Camisole, $95, available at Aritzia.

Once I borrowed my friend's gingham corset and wore it over a gingham shirt and I looked sick AF and now I want to buy these pants. Great for spring.

J. Crew Linen Pant in Gingham, $128, available at J. Crew.

Beach days are all fun and games until someone gets a sunburn! Protect your face and look stylish with this sun hat.

J .Crew Factory Classic Straw Hat, $14.50, available at J. Crew Factory.

I love this playsuit because its like a slip dress without the ever-present windy day fear of flashing your underwear on Houston Street.

Archive by Alexa The Mae Playsuit, $64, available at Mark & Spencer.

How beauteous are these?! They're from the Gucci x Net-a-porter collaboration which seems pretty identical to the Gucci SS16 collection but I'm not complaining. please remember that this column is called "Things I Would Buy If I Didn't Have to Pay Rent" before you yell in the comments about how expensive they are. Dreaming is good for the brain.

Gucci for Net-a-Porter Floral-Print Textured Leather Pumps, $950, available at Net-a-Porter.

These high-waist bathing suit bottoms are super cute and I just remembered that I'm supposed to be exercising for summer yesterday. High-waisted x Memorial Day Weekend = success.

Cynthia Rowley High Waist Bikini Bottom, $105 $79, available at Moda Operandi.

Sandals in the city are a particularly challenging dilemma. How close do you want your skin to be the NYC sidewalk? Maybe these are beach only... Either way, they're adorable. And inexpensive.

Mango Knots Flat Sandals, $39.99, available at Mango.

Easy, breezy, beautiful as they say. And this jumpsuit lets you sit down on the subway! (Bare thighs and public seating is a NO.)

Datura Black Silk Kung Fu Jumpsuit, $240, available at Datura.
