If you ask us, Earth Day is a lot like Valentine's Day. Do we really need a specific day to tell our loved ones / entire planet how we feel? No. But, every once in awhile (or rather, once every 365 days), it's nice to pull out all the stops and do something special.
This year, in honor of Earth Day, dozens of beauty brands have launched initiatives to give back to the planet — and the plants and creatures that inhabit it (the plants and creatures that, BTW, provide the ingredients for some of your favorite products). So, if you've been on the lookout for a new foundation, SPF, or lip balm, go ahead and click "add to cart" today. Who knows? You may contribute to global environmental education, or save a honeybee!
We've rounded up some of the best brands offering green deals for Earth Day. Check 'em out in the following slides, and get ready to feel all warm and soft inside (and maybe outside, too).

Why are bees so important? Well, not only do they pollinate one third of all the food we consume, they create honey, beeswax, and help keep our entire ecosystem in check. That's why Burt's Bees, a company with a long-standing history of bee appreciation, is launching "Bring Back The Bees."
As part of this initiative, the brand is selling three limited-edition lip balms, each with a faded letter "B" to represent the decreasing population of the world's bees. Burt's Bees Greater Good Foundation will plant 1,000 wildflower seeds for each balm purchased through June 30 this year.
Burt's Bees Limited Edition Lip Balm in Pink Grapefruit, $3.29, available at Burt's Bees.
